Our vitamin K2 does currently contain maltodextrin (less than 1 gram at approximately 103 mg per capsule) ... it's used in the spray drying process where K2 oil is converted into powder.
If you see a K2 supplement in a capsule, tablet or powder, 99% of them are going to include maltodextrin because of this reason. And maltodextrin is currently one of the most effective carriers for K2 shelf life K2 is quite an unstable vitamin.
Because it's classified as an incidental minor excipient though, brands aren't required to disclose its use to customers, so it is extremely unlikely yo will see it on many labels or website product pages (we disclose excipients, hence why you've noticed it's in our formula).
We are exploring ways to switch out maltodextrin for a different type of carrier. However as it's included in small amounts, and K2 supplements should be taken with food, the concerns which are mostly linked to glucose spikes are minimal & why we are currently using this formula.
