You mentioned you should make sure the elemental magnesium amount in a true magnesium glycinate is 12-14% of the total magnesium amount. I was wondering if the same logic applies to Zinc-glycinate, Iron Glycinate & all the other glycinates?

Great question & the short answer is yes, the same logic applies to zinc glycinate, iron glycinate, and other amino-acid chelates, but the percentages are different for each mineral.

Magnesium glycinate is approx. 12–14% elemental magnesium

Zinc glycinate is approx. 20–30% elemental zinc

Iron glycinate is approx.18-25%% elemental iron

If a product lists elemental amounts far outside these ranges, it’s often a sign the mineral is not fully chelated and may be mixed with cheaper forms like oxides or carbonates.

But this tends to be most common in magnesium glycinate supplements rather than other minerals.
