Do I need to be low in magnesium to benefit from a supplement?

You don’t necessarily have to be deficient to benefit from supplementation, especially if you're not eating foods that are rich in magnesium like pumpkin seeds, dark leafy green vegetables, avocados etc.

Deficiency often shows up when magnesium intake from food hasn’t been adequate for an extended period of time ... so it’s best to support your levels consistently rather than waiting until they drop too low to start supplementing.

Another thing to mention is that blood tests for magnesium aren't always the best indicator either, as most of your body’s magnesium is stored in bones, muscles & cells ... not in the blood.

So even if your levels appear normal, you might still benefit from supplementation.
